Terms of use
⚠ Not yet reviewed by a lawyer. These terms are in force — accepting them when you open an account is what binds us both, and pretending otherwise would only remove the protections they give you. The legal review has been requested and has not come back, so expect this text to change. Clause 8 says how we will tell you when it does.
Version 2026-08-10. Applies together with the Privacy notice.
1. Who we are
RS Trader Academy is operated by Sigmalitics B.V., a private limited company registered in the Netherlands, KvK number 98029940, registered address Moreelsehoek 180, 3511 EZ Utrecht, Netherlands. You can reach us at support@sigmalitics.com.
2. What this is
We publish trading education, and we run a practice environment where you can make trading decisions against historical or synthetic market data without money at risk. The education is free. Some tooling may be paid; where it is, the price and what you get are stated before you pay.
3. What this is not
This matters more than anything else on the page, so it is stated plainly.
- We are not an investment firm and we hold no AFM licence. We do not need one for what we do, because we do not do the things that require one.
- We do not give investment advice. Nothing we publish is a personal recommendation. We do not know your finances, your goals or your risk tolerance, and we never take them into account. If a lesson or a chart names a company, it is a historical teaching example with a known outcome, never a suggestion to buy or sell anything now.
- We never handle your money. We hold no client funds, we execute no real orders, and we manage no portfolios. We are paid by you, for the tooling you choose to buy, and by nobody else. We take no commission, referral fee or rebate from any broker or trading venue, ever.
- We publish no trading signals and we do not tell anyone what to trade.
- The practice environment is fictional. Its money is not real, its fills are simulated, and its results say nothing about what the same decisions would have earned in a live market. Simulated results are labelled as simulated wherever they appear.
- One part of it runs against a broker's simulation, and that changes nothing above. The Live Desk places your practice orders into a brokerage sandbox — a test environment a broker provides for exactly this purpose — so that fills behave more like the real thing. That account is a simulation: it holds no money, it cannot hold money, you cannot deposit into it or withdraw from it, and it is opened under a random reference rather than your name. It is not a brokerage account of yours, we are not introducing you to a broker, and we are paid nothing by anyone for it.
4. Your account
You need an account for progress tracking and the practice environment. The public lessons need no account at all.
Keep your password to yourself and tell us at support@sigmalitics.com if you think someone else has it. You must be at least 16 years old. One account per person; do not share logins.
You can close your account at any time, and closing it is as easy as opening it was. What happens to your data when you do is set out in the Privacy notice.
5. What you may and may not do here
Use the material to learn, including at work. Quote us with attribution.
Do not republish the courses as your own, resell access, scrape the site wholesale, attack the infrastructure, or use the community to solicit anyone. Do not ask other members what to trade, and do not tell them — the community exists to discuss method, and that boundary is the reason it can exist at all.
We can suspend an account that breaks these rules. If we do, we will tell you why, and you can reply to support@sigmalitics.com and have a person look at it again.
6. The certificate
Finishing the capstone earns an internal certificate of completion issued by us. It is a record that you completed our programme. It is not a regulated qualification, it is not recognised by any authority, and it does not license or entitle you to do anything.
7. Trading is risky, and the risk is yours
If you trade real money, you can lose it, including more than you deposited with some instruments. You make your own decisions and you carry your own losses. We accept no liability for any trading loss, and nothing here is a promise that any method works.
We do not limit our liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else the law does not let us limit. Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
8. If we change these terms
We will post the new version with a new date, and tell account holders by email before a change that affects them takes effect. If you do not accept a change, close your account.
9. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies, and the Dutch courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the mandatory protections of your own country's law and can bring a claim there. You can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
